They say life begins at 40 and at Apparelmaster, we’re definitely looking forward to another forty years in this fulfilling and fun business.
In May licensees and staff from over 30 Apparelmaster branches from across New Zealand, came together in Wellington to celebrate our first 40 years in the business of keeping New Zealand covered at work.
From humble beginnings in Wellington, after some tenacious negotiating from early pioneers, John Taylor and Bill Ritchie with Apparelmaster of America, Apparelmaster has become New Zealand’s leading, most innovative, and successful workplace rental business with a reputation for exceptional quality, flexible and seamless implementation, state-of-the-art technology, and – most importantly – genuinely great, local people. We’re certainly proud to be part of this incredible team!
So, of course, we wanted to celebrate in style and thank everyone from the Apparelmaster family with a party that would blow even windy Wellington away! The Capital was the ideal place for the event, considering the company’s origins and being the centre of this beautiful country of ours, and people came from all over to attend. Not only did we enjoy hosting our own Apparelmaster branch representatives, we also had the pleasure of having some of our key partners and supporters along to keep the weekend interesting.
One of these was our marketing team, Cavalry, who put on an incredible Friday night event of dinner & drinks with charity bingo thrown in for good measure. The event was also dedicated to a good cause. During the evening we all helped Apparelmaster raise $12K for Life Education Trust – you might know them for their mascot, Harold the Giraffe! Life Education is such an important part of all of our communities and they do valuable work educating children to make healthy choices, and we were proud to be involved and support such a great charity.
Saturday was all about exploring what Wellington has to offer – including a WETA Workshop Tour and behind the scenes look at The Beehive! The night saw everyone don their finest attire for a black tie Gala dinner to celebrate the 40th Birthday of the business; and a great night was had by all.
It has been such a remarkable journey over these 40 years and we decided the efforts of everyone involved needed to be recognised and acknowledged in a stunning commemorative book collated, designed and delivered beautifully by Cavalry. It’s a truly wonderful story of how a pair of forward-thinking Kiwi’s changed the way New Zealand workplaces keep their team professional, presentable, and protected.
