Apparelmaster Franchisee Of The Year – Sincerity Drycleaners Matamata
Even when faced with the adversity of losing a major client in 2013, Sincerity Drycleaners never lost sight of the end goal - Winning the Supreme Apparelmaster Franchisee of the Year Award. In doing so they proved that being a smaller franchisee is no hurdle to achieving greatness. 100% committed to the 'Apparelmaster Way', the team at Sincerity worked tirelessly to ensure they achieved 100% brand consistency across their entire business; from buildings and vehicles, to uniforms and business cards. Their commitment to getting it right is also reflected in their participation in the InStep Programme and successful attainment of AsureQuality Certification. Owners Allan and Raewyn Lambert commented they knew nothing 9 years ago about Apparelmaster, or Laundry for that matter.... and now largely through their focus, commitment, team effort and support from the wider AM group, they have achieved their goal of being crowned 2014 Franchisee of the year.
Apparelmaster Runner-Up Franchisee Of The Year - Wrights Apparelmaster Ashburton
For Wrights Apparelmaster Ashburton, being named Runner up Franchisee Of The Year again really is a case of history repeating itself. Not that owners Stu and Neroli Cross really mind, having now won twice and been runner-up twice… all in the last 4 years! Having experienced massive growth last year, winning franchisee awards had to take a back seat to gearing up their plant, in order to cater for the increased workload – not a bad position to be in. Stu was quick to point out that none of this would have been achievable without the support of Neroli and his staff, who even under all the immense pressure ensured the quality of work and focus on customer service never faltered. Apart from the accolade of being announced Apparelmaster Runner-up Franchisee of the year, somehow Wrights Apparelmaster also managed to fit in Gold status in the independent Instep Carbon and Sustainability Programme.
Congratulations to all the Wrights Apparelmaster Ashburton team for such a huge effort!
Customer Service Award - Sarita Lewis of McCallums Apparelmaster
Sarita Lewis started with McCallums Group in November 1999 and now holds the position of leading hand in their commercial sewing room. Primarily Sarita’s role has involved the repairs and alterations to the 5000 plus woolviscoes garments, in service at the New Zealand aluminum smelter in Invercargill. In addition to this, over the years she has developed and prototyped a number of innovative improvements to a variety of garments, adding safety, comfort and functionality. Sarita has always proven herself to be a hardworking and capable employee. She is an extremely loyal person who is customer driven. Sarita’s exceptional sewing skills were proven to be of vital importance some months ago, when a New Zealand Aluminium smelter employee accidentally spilt molten metal. His woolviscoes garment, maintained and repaired by Sarita, ensured he was unharmed by the 660 degree molten aluminum. In an email McCallum’s received about the incident, the following comment was made by the Reduction Manager:
“Of note is that one person commented to me that the trousers must have been new as ones with patches wouldn’t have lasted that well. In fact these trousers are actually older and have several repairs to them. The repairs have stood up well to the molten metal.”
Sales Person Of The Year Award - Harvey Grimmer of Muirs Apparelmaster
Although a butcher by trade, you certainly couldn't say Harvey Grimmer butchers his sales role at Muirs Apparelmaster. Harvey (aka pukeko legs) joined Muirs in customer service and as back-up van driver in January 2013. Never one to miss an opportunity, right off the bat he started selling to existing customers and transitioned quickly into new sales. As a result, over the 2013-14 financial year Harvey increased Apparelmaster turnover by just over 15% and Linenmaster by just over 20%. According to owners Dion and Kirsty Warner, Harvey is a team player, who is driven, always goes the extra mile and genuinely has the businesses best interests at heart. He is more than worthy of the Apparelmaster 2013 Sales Person Of The Year.
