It’s easy to see that Bill Ritchie was a man, not only admired and respected, but truly loved by the people who worked with him over his 40 years with Apparelmaster. He was a dearly loved father of three, a wonderful husband to Inez, and Grandad Bill to his 10 grandchildren. He was also a man of vision, ethics, commitment, and innovation.

Commenting on the win, Director Ricky Brackfield said “We’re thrilled to have our extensive sustainability practices recognised. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved and delighted to be pointing the spotlight on business sustainability. This award is such an important accolade for our hard-working team, they go out of their way to make a difference.”

17 July 2014 is a date that will be etched in Rae and Warren Massey’s mind forever. It was a typical day at the workwear rental and laundry business they run with their son Clark. Rae was the last person to leave the plant that night just before 6pm. Before going, she did her usual checks and made sure that everything was switched off. She noticed a slightly unpleasant smell, and set about detecting where it was coming from. Having been in the laundry business for many years, Rae knew all too well the dangers of fire which are inherent in the industry.
